Wrongful death occurs whenever a person dies as the result of someone else’s wrongful act or negligence. It can be the result of product liability, slip and fall accidents, car accidents, construction accidents, or any event where a person or corporation does not exercise reasonable care and that negligence causes the death of another. New York law holds those responsible for the wrongful death of another accountable for their actions by allowing surviving family members to seek compensation for any damages the death of their loved one may have caused.
